• persuasive games workshop
english:

We first begin by playing games and by doing so we learn more about the elements that define games. Then we will work in teams, using the Reframing method to define a vision on the subject area and a statement on how to change behavior. Next you will come up with a game concept that will realise the intended impact. At the end of day one you will pitch your idea Pecha Kucha style. We end the day with social drinks!

On day two you will prototype your game idea into a persuasive game. Learn how to tweak gameplay for the intended purpose. No technical or coding skills needed! Cardboard, duct-tape, and role-playing will be involved. You will learn how to test your game and improve it throughout the day. At the end of the day you present your game to the other teams. We end with social drinks!

The workshop a collaboration between game researchers, game designers and a social designer. This will be facilitated and presented by Alyea Sandovar, Martijn Kors, Karel Millenaar and Emilie Tromp.

Sponsors: We would like to thank the Reframing Academy, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Fielding Graduate University, Miles Ahead and Creativo Design.

persuasive games workshop

Two-day workshop reframing games for social impact
05/26/2017 - 09:30 to 05/27/2017 - 18:00

Games can help us address social issues and inspire behavioral change. In this workshop we will get our hands dirty: we will explore, design, think, play and prototype. Most importantly we will learn how to design and prototype a game with social impact.
